School Activities

Students have Religion class daily and go to Mass weekly. There are also opportunities for the sacrament of Reconciliation twice a year.

Activities are an important way we challenge students at St. John’s School. Many of these activities are faith-based. We compete with area Catholic Schools in some of these activities in Middle School.

Some of the other activities our students are involved in are:

• Forensics
• Academic Quiz Bowl
• Spelling Bee
• Big Buddy Afterschool Program

We do many fun activities throughout the year also.

• Catholic Schools Week
• Field Trips
• Missoula Children’s Theater with Edgar Public School every other year
• Grandparent’s Day
• Make a Difference Day
• Swimming Lessons
• End of the Year School Picnic
• Walk for Virtues

Special education services for students with some learning disabilities are available through the public school. We work closely with the public school so students’ learning is successful. Please contact the Principal with questions.

Students at St. John’s have the opportunity to participate in athletics with their peers at the Edgar Public School. This builds team unity & friendships in preparation for high school.

Elementary Activities:

• Flag Football
• Basketball
• Volleyball

Middle School Activities:

• Flag Football/Football
• Cross Country
• Basketball
• Volleyball
• Track
• Wrestling

St. John’s students also have the opportunity to participate in Band with their peers at the Edgar Public School.  Band begins the second semester of Fifth Grade; expect an information letter to come home in January.

St. John’s students go to Edgar Public School for both class and lessons, allowing them to perform in concerts at Edgar Public School.  Students are able to use their musical knowledge at Mass and during our Christmas Concert.
